Terms & Conditions
- Sprite Gully Cricket Champs (‘Competition’) is a Cricket-based competition owned by Coca-Cola India Pvt. Ltd. (‘Company’) for the Youth of India.
- Competition is a Cricket tournament played for maximum 5 overs per side in a Knock out format, where the team losing a match is eliminated from the Competition.
- Competition shall be held over September 2010 and October 2010 (‘Competition period’) in Moradabad, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Gorukhpur and Jammu (“Centres”).
- Competition provides a platform for Youth to connect and display their Cricketing abilities and talent while having fun, and also provides them with an opportunity to succeed and win./li>
- 5. The competition has following prizes: Cash and/or Autographed Cricket gear of the Kolkata Knight Riders team. [Details of the prizes are mentioned at point 36]
- Company has appointed Vivify Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., L-28/2 DLF City, Phase 2, Gurgaon, Haryana (‘Vivify’), as the on-ground execution Agency for the Competition.
- Company has appointed HT Mobile Services (“Agency”) to conduct the registration back end process for and on behalf of the Company.>
- PARTICIPATION:The Company will invite participation from the people through Radio, Print Advertisements, Leaflets, Flyers, etc.
All Participants to the Competition need to fulfill the following criteria:
a. Participation is open only through Teams. The Team size is fixed to 12 male members.
b. Every Team must nominate a Captain for their Team. This person would be the single point of contact for the Competition. In case of any disputes within the Team, the Company shall at its discretion, either disqualify the Team, or act on the request of the Captain, who would be the sole representative of the Team. Be in age group of 15 – 35 years (both inclusive) Participants below 18 years of age must be accompanied by their legal/natural guardians or have their consent for the performance.
c. Be a citizen of India
d. Team Members should not be suffering from any Total Permanent disability or Total Partial Disability.
- The participants should not be bound by any contract or arrangement which may prohibit them from paying in the Competition.
- 11. For the purpose of participation, all expenses at all stages of the Competition, if any, including travelling cost and expenses incurred in registering shall be borne by the Teams. The cost of transportation, stay or any other linked expenses borne by the participants to take part in the Competition shall not be reimbursed by the Company, and all such arrangements shall have to be made by the participants themselves.
- Entry into this Competition automatically confirms acceptance of the Release Letter even if not signed, and confirms that participation is not under any pressure or threat or coercion
- Participants in the Competition will no way be connected to the Company, Knight Rider Sports or any agency linked with the Competition.
- Participation by any Team may be rejected by Vivify/Agency in its sole discretion without assigning any reason whatsoever. Notwithstanding the said fact, Vivify/Agency may also reject the participation of any Team(s) or any of its members, if it is found that the participants or the Team(s) have provided wrong, incorrect, misleading, incomplete and illegible information to the Company.
- Participant shall follow all directions/rules and regulations framed by the Company or Vivify/Agency at all times in connection with the Competition. Any deviation or objection by any participating team or it’s members may result in their disqualification from the Competition.
- Each participant shall participate voluntarily and at his/ her own risk and will have no claim against the Company on any account whatsoever in relation to the said Competition. The Company shall not be responsible for any loss or any form of injury that occurs to the Participant(s) on account of their participation in the Competition.
- The Company shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for the cancellation or the postponement of the Competition, disqualification and/or rejection of any Team(s) & damage, loss, accident, injury, death etc of/to any participant(s) and member(s) including the support staff or any person accompanying the participant(s) of the Team(s) during and through the course of the Competition.
- The Competition may be discontinued, cancelled, postponed or terminated by Company at any point of time without assigning any reasons whatsoever in Company’s sole discretion. .
- 1The Company reserves the right to modify the rules and/or the terms and conditions from time to time without any prior/public notice by posting the applicable terms and conditions on the website www.Sprite.in.
- The decision of the Company shall be final and binding on the Participant(s) and the Team(s), in relation to any matter pertaining to the Competition. No disputes regarding the rules and regulations of the Competition will be entertained by the Company at any point of time.
- The Company shall not be bound or the participants shall not be entitled to any remuneration, fee, reimbursements of cost or any payments of whatsoever nature for participating in the Competition.
- The participant undertakes to provide and/or execute any documents as may be deemed necessary by the Company to effectively carry out his/her obligations under the Competition and/or its Terms & Conditions.
- THE COMPETITION STRUCTURE:
- The Competition will be conducted in 3 (Three) phases:
a.) Registration
b.) City-level Matches,
c.) Intercity Finals
- REGISTRATION:
- 24. Teams wishing to participate in the Competition shall have to fill up the Registration Form which would be distributed through or during:
a.) Road-shows
b.) SMS Gully to 92277 92277; or
c.) By logging on to www.sprite.in.
In the event a person chooses to opt for (ii) above, a call back (“Voice Call”) will be made to consumers who SMS to register their Team for the Competition. asking them details of their preferred center and other information. A maximum of Three (3) Voice calls would be made to the consumer(s) and in the event the Company or its Agency, as the case may be is unable to establish contact with the consumer(s) despite the said attempts or for any reason whatsoever, the Company or its Agency shall reserve the right to eliminate the said consumer(s) from proceeding further in the Competition. The decision of the Company or its Agency shall be final and binding on the consumer(s) and consumer(s) shall not raise any dispute in this regard. Notwithstanding the above, the Company or its Agency shall reserve the sole right to reject or disqualify any consumer(s) for any reason whatsoever.
- The Agency will then scrutinize these entries and conduct a lucky draw to identify 32 teams in each center. The shortlisted teams will be contacted by the Agency representative, informing them of the date, time, venue and other details required for the Matches to be played in the Competition. Each participating member of the Team is required to carry an identification and date of birth documents for verification purposes. The Company or the Agency shall reserve the sole right to call for any further documents which may be required to ascertain the identity/age of the participant. The decision of the Company or the Agency shall be final in this regard. .
- No Team is allowed to register itself twice from the same or different centers. In case it is found that the Team or its Members have registered more than once, the Company or the Agency shall reserve the sole right to disqualify and reject the said Team from the event irrespective of the stage of the Competition.. The Company retains the right to select an alternate Team to replace the Disqualified/Rejected team on such terms as may determined by the Company or the Agency in its sole discretion..

- On or after the Registration End Date, the Company or the Agency shall conduct a computerized draw of lots to choose and select 32 Team which shall progress to the next stage of the tournament. The decision of the Company or the Agency shall be final and binding on all the registered teams in this regard. Thereafter, the Agency shall call each of the 32 winners and would take down the names and contact details of all their team members. The Company or the Agency shall contact the 32 winners through telephone calls, mailers or through any mode as may be determined by the Company or the Agency. For the aforesaid purpose, the Company or the Agency shall be responsible for establishing contact with the (“Captain”) of the respective 32 Teams. It will be the Captains responsibility to give the names and contact details of each of its team members. Every Team will nominate a Captain for their Team. This person would be the single point of contact for the remaining part of the Competition. If the Company or the Agency determine that there is a overlap of players in two or more teams, they will inform the respective Captains of the said fact and ask them to change the player(s) concerned. If the said change is not done by the respective teams within a priod of 24 hours from the date of intimation, then the Company or the Agency may in its sole discretion disqualify the team(s). In the event the Company or the Agency is not able to establish contact with any of the 32 Teams for any reason whatsoever despite its best efforts, the Company or the Agency may in their discretion disqualify the said Team from the Competition and in the alternative, may choose another Team as a replacement. Thereafter, the Agency shall share the details of the 32 Teams with Vivify for Vivify to conduct the cricket matches.
- These top 16 teams will play the City Level Matches in a knock – out format. The Winning team of the City Level Matches will play the Inter-City Matches in Kolkata.
- Vivify shall take necessary regulatory and statutory permissions from various local authorities for conducting the cricket matches and forward the copy(ies) of the same to the Company for their reference and records at least 5 days prior to the conduct of the cricket matches. Vivify shall ensure that all the participating teams are informed of the rules and regulations of the cricket matches well in advance and the Company assumes no responsibility whatsoever in this regard. By playing the cricket match in the Competition, each of the 32 Teams confirm to have understood the rules and regulations governing the cricket match(s) and undertake not to hold the Company or Vivify liable & responsible in manner whatsoever.
- 32 shortlisted teams will undergo a “Super Over” Match from which the Top 16 teams will be selected for the “City League”. These top 16 teams will play the City Level Matches in a knock – out format. The Winning team of the City Level Matches will play the Inter-City Matches in Kolkata.
- If Vivify determines that that any document, information or undertaking given by the participating team to them or to the Agency is incorrect, misleading, false, fabricated, incomplete or illegible they may in their sole discretion disqualify the team. Vivify shall also retain the sole right to disqualify any Team(s) or cancel the on-ground event including the conduct of cricket matches on the grounds of cheating, misconduct, misbehavior, brawl, arguments with officials and umpires and any other reason incidental and connected with respect thereto by any Team(s) or its players.
- If Vivify determines that that any document, information or undertaking given by the participating team to them or to the Agency is incorrect, misleading, false, fabricated, incomplete or illegible they may in their sole discretion disqualify the team. Vivify shall also retain the sole right to disqualify any Team(s) or cancel the on-ground event including the conduct of cricket matches on the grounds of cheating, misconduct, misbehavior, brawl, arguments with officials and umpires and any other reason incidental and connected with respect thereto by any Team(s) or its players.
- Each of the Participating Team(s) undertake and confirm that all their team members bear a good moral character and have not been implicated or named in any legal proceedings (both Civil and Criminal) nor have been arrested or implicated by any authority for any offence under the Indian Penal Code.
- CITY LEVEL MATCHES:
- Teams will be responsible for reaching the venue determined by the Company or the Vivify at the scheduled date and time for the matches.
- All Team members must carry valid Proof of age and nationality as may be required by the Company and 2 passport size photographs for the Matches. Vivify would scrutinize and review these documents and participation by any Team may be rejected, if it is found that the participants have provided wrong, incorrect, misleading, fabricated and fudged documents or information to the Company.
- The actions of the Teams when inside the Match venue shall be recorded by the Company, and the Company will retain rights to use the footage in any format (Still, Video, audio) and use it on any media deemed fit by the Company (including but not limited to TV, Radio, Print, Online, outdoor, etc.) irrespective of the contestants selection for the further rounds.
- Entry of participant in one stage of Competition shall not entitle his/her/their entry in subsequent stages. The Company reserves the right to disqualify and/or exclude, in its sole and absolute discretion, any participant from any stage of Competition without assigning any reason thereof.
- The Teams qualifying for the Intercity Finals will be informed by Vivify of the date, time and venue of the Final.
- One Winning team from Moradabad, Agra, Allahabad, Varanasi, Gorukhpur, Jammu, Kanpur and Lucknow, would play the Inter-city Finals – a knock out format competition.
- Qualified Teams will be responsible for reaching the said venue at said date and time, and will be required to play in the Inter-city Finals.
- PRIZES, SCORING AND WINNERS:
- Prizes: The Inter-City Finals Winning Team would be awarded prizes as under:
a) Winner – Cash Prize of Rs. 4,00,000.00 and Cricket gear of the Kolkata Knight Riders team
Runners Up – Cash Prize of Rs. 1,50,000.00
The City Level Winners would be awarded prizes as under:
Winner – Cash Prize of Rs. 1,00,000
Runners Up – Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000
These amounts would be subject to tax deductions as per prevailing laws. Winners will have to submit a Self attested copy of following documents for the purpose of taxation and legal validation: (i) Income Tax Permanent Account number copy (ii) Photo Identity proof (iii) Address proof (iv) Bank account details (v) Any other document as may be required by the Company.
- The exact nature of the prizes for the winners can change depending upon the circumstances, and the Company would not be required to give any explanations thereof. The Company shall try to respect its commitments on a best effort basis.

- The prize amounts are subject to tax deductions as per law, and all participants must ensure they have a valid PAN card and a bank account before they participate in the Competition
- During the matches, the decision(s) taken by the designated umpires & match officials would be final and binding on all the participating Teams. The umpires and match officials will be selected by the Company or Vivify, as the case may be.
- Members of all Teams hereby authorize and assign all rights, title and interest in the videos and photographs, to the Company, and the right to use the same in any manner and in any media whatsoever, including Company’s promotional activities, advertising, or any other internal or external purposes.
- In case of Team members below 18 years of age, entry to the Contest shall be deemed as an acceptance and consent of the Parent / Guardian of such Team members, and the participants in the Competition will be bound by its Terms & Conditions.
- The winners, in the event of their winning, agree and stipulate that they will be available for 15 (fifteen) days of promotional purposes as planned and desired by the Company. The exact dates remain the sole discretion of the Company. Such purposes will be including but not limited to press events, internal meetings and ceremonies/functions. Such purposes may also require the winners to perform at events. Such agreement by the winners will continue to be in force for a period of three (3) years from the date of the Competition finals. All such appearances and performances, including photographs, videos, sound and any other media generated, will be the intellectual property of the company. The Company shall also have the full right to distribute the same over any media (including but not limited to TV, Radio, Print, Online, outdoor, etc.).
- All disputes arising out of or in connection with this Competition shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts at New Delhi.
